Pascal Wehrlein has officially signed for Formula E team Mahindra Racing, he is set to partner Jerome D’Ambrosio, who has raced in Formula E from the get go.

“I’m very happy to be joining Mahindra Racing, It’s a small team with really high ambitions and I have the same high ambitions. I want to achieve the best possible results and I have a feeling the team is the right environment for me. I’m looking forward to the season and I will give my best." Wehrlein released in a statement earlier today.

With this news, we can now rule out Pascal Wehrlein from the running for the vacant Toro Rosso seat next to Daniil Kvyat, who is set to drive for the Italian team for the 2019 season. Sergey Sirotkin is therefore the most likely candidate to take the Toro Rosso seat, leaving the Russian's seat at Williams Racing vacant and would make Robert Kubica the pole sitter for the Williams seat.
