Kimi Raikkonen and Charles Leclerc have officially announced their movements for the 2019 season. Raikkonen is moving back to his old seat at Sauber, where he kick-started his Formula One career in 2001. Whilst Leclerc will partner four-time World Champion, Sebastian Vettel. Ultimately the two drivers will swap seats for the next season.
The wait is over! Ferrari officially announced their driver pairing for the 2019 season this morning. With Charles Leclerc being one of the youngest drivers since Ricardo Rodriguez, who was 19 when he began racing for Ferrari in 1961. Leclerc has secured one of the most desired seats in the whole paddock, which is even more impressive when noting this current season is only his first in Formula One. Although, the young Monegasque has seemed to have impressed people up and down the F1 Paddock one being the four-time World Champion, Lewis Hamilton, who has been quoted saying; "Leclerc really has the potential to do great things in Formula One, you can't say that about every kid who has come through in the past years.” Whilst some took this to be a dig at Canadian, Lance Stroll, others can see how Leclerc has made impressions in his debut season.
Kimi Raikkonen is moving back to his debuting team of Alfa Romeo Sauber. He will officially be out of his red race suit at the end of this season which draws to a close at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in November. By March 2019, Raikkonen will be fully adjusted to the management and runnings of the Swiss team and will be seen wearing the white and red racing overalls of Sauber on the grid in Melbourne where the 2019 season commences.
