Mexico! The Formula 1 circus will continue to travel and race in Mexico City for a further three years.

After losing government funding this year, the question of retaining the Mexican Grand Prix on the race calendar was recurring. Fortunately, due to privately raised funding, the Mexican Grand Prix will remain on the F1 calendar until at least 2022.

Although, after so much support from the city, the Grand Prix will be renamed the Mexico City Grand Prix, emphasising the importance of the support given by the people of Mexico City.

After returning to the race calendar in 2015, the Mexican Grand Prix has won the FIA award for best event for four years running! So why wouldn't Formula 1 push to retain such a fantastic racing event?

Still three races remain as unknowns: Germany, Spain and Italy are still yet to be confirmed for the 2020 season. Although, Formula 1 have managed to retain both Silverstone and Albert Park for the next five years, as well as, adding Vietnam and Zandvoort to the calendar. With these circuits confirmed, the race calendar already amounts to twenty races, will they stretch the calendar to twenty three races by retaining both Italy, Germany and Spain?
