McLaren Following Ferrari-Management Changes

After Ferrari announced their switch of team principle from Maurizio Arrivabene to Mattia Binotto, McLaren have followed suit and announced a switch in their management. Andreas Seidl has been appointed as the new managing director for McLaren.

Andreas Seidl previously worked as the team boss at Porsche for the WEC, World Endurance Championship. Seidl's move is in hope of bringing McLaren back to the winning state that it was once in, Andreas has a great track record from Porsche after securing both drivers and constructors championship titles in 2015, 2016 and in 2017! Andreas was also a vital aspect in securing Porsche's successes in Le Mans 24 Hours. But will Andreas be able to transfer his winning knowledge for WEC to Formula 1 and McLaren?

Seidl won't be replacing anyone in the team, but will be taking weight off Zak Brown's shoulders who will continue being the CEO of McLaren. Andreas will however report directly to Zak Brown.

McLaren have appointed many new faces throughout the last few years in hope of securing McLaren as a front runner once again. Will Andreas Seidl be the missing component?

The team have all the necessary ingredients to bring the them back to the glory days. They have the money, experience, vision and the people... If anyone can win again, it's this team. After all, they did win 12 drivers titles and 8 constructors titles, albeit it started in the 70s and ended in 2008 with Lewis Hamilton claiming the trophy.

Andreas Seidl is certainly up for the job, "This is an enormous privilege and challenge, which I am ready for and committed to. To have an opportunity to contribute to the McLaren legacy is extremely special and inspiring. McLaren has the vision, leadership and experience but, most importantly, the people to return to the front, and that will be my absolute focus and mission."

With new management and a whole new driver line up with Carlos Sainz and newbie, Lando Norris, will this be the season we've all been waiting for?
