Valentines day, the day of love, but also the day McLaren reveals their 2019 challenger. Although the Woking based team finished sixth in the Constructors Championship this year, their overall year was a disappointing one.

The papaya coloured team hasn't changed much at first glance on the livery side, other then adding some blue at the rear of the car. However, McLaren have chosen a whole new driver line up to race them into 2019 with Carlos Sainz and rookie, Lando Norris. Additionally, team principle, Zak Brown has claimed the new car to have "substantial changes" which can only be a good thing after a pretty poor previous season, considering McLaren have actually secured a total of 8 Constructors Championships in the past. Zac Brown also commented on last years car, "We didn't develop a very good race car, we've certainly got higher hopes for this year's car. But it's hard to tell until you get out there. The competition is only getting tougher in this sport."

Will this year be McLaren's year?

McLaren have undergone management and personnel switches, most notably Andreas Seidl, who has moved from Porsche's World Endurance Championship team, to the role of managing director. Moreover, Gil de Ferran is beginning his first full season in the role of sporting director. Whilst Pat Fry is returning to McLaren as the engineering director.

Can McLaren get back to being a front running team?

McLaren are calling this years car the MCL34 with the attachment of 'Fearlessly Forward'. But will McLaren prosper and actually move 'Fearlessly Forward' or will they just rapidly regress?
