Sources have revealed, Daniil Kvyat has rejected his contract as a Ferrari development driver. This alludes us to believe he will be returning to Formula One as an actual racing driver in the 2019 season. Moreover, with Kvyat being out of a Ferrari contract, he would be able to return to Red Bull's sister team, Toro Rosso.

Additionally, Helmet Marko is said to have Kvyat in the prime position to receive the 2019 Toro Rosso drive, after Pierre Gasly was promoted to Red Bull. If this is the case, Toro Rosso could sign a wild card, as they would already have an experienced driver to take the reins.

However, with such a messy history with the Red Bull family, would Daniil Kvyat even go back to them?

Red Bull Junior Team 2010

Kvyat started as a Red Bull Junior driver along side Daniel Ricciardo, Carlos Sainz, Brendon Hartley and Jean-Eric Vergne, current Formula E World Champion. He was then signed by Toro Rosso in 2014 and was promoted to Red Bull, after Sebastian Vettel signed to Ferrari in 2015. Whilst Kvyat rocketed in to a top team in F1, his whole F1 career wasn't as smooth sailing. In 2016 he was demoted back to Toro Rosso to make way for Max Verstappen. Following this, he was then pushed out by Pierre Gasly in the 2017 season in Malaysia. He didn't even finish the season before the Red Bull 'family' replaced him.

So will Red Bull have to swallow their pride and bring back a twice demoted Daniil Kvyat? Or will they continue with New Zealander, Brendon Hartley?
