Antonio Giovinazzo has officially been confirmed to drive for Alfa Romeo Sauber for the 2019 Formula One season. He is due to partner 2008 World Champion, Kimi Raikkonen, who made his shock move from Ferrari to the Swiss team, Sauber, in early September.
Giovinazzi has already made his Formula One race debut at Sauber, when he replaced Pascal Wehrlein at the Australian Grand Prix due to Wehrlein having neck injuries. Additionally, Antonio was the reserve driver for Ferrari in 2017 and will therefore have no issue with the everyday runnings of Formula One.

What does this mean for Marcus Ericsson? Marcus, the current Sauber driver who has raced with Sauber since the 2015 season, will be left without a seat for 2019. However, Sauber have confirmed Marcus will be staying in the team but with a new development role.
Will Giovinazzi and Raikkonen bring Sauber back to the Midfield for the 2019 season?
