Mick Schumacher, son of seven-time World Champion Michael Schumacher, has been linked to replace Pierre Gasly at Toro Rosso for the 2019 season. The current Formula Three driver has to gain at least 20 Super licence points by the end of his F3 season before he can even dream of a drive in Formula One. Additionally, he also needs to gain a podium finish by the end of the current season. This however is no bother for Mick, as he is well on his way to ticking both boxes. Schumacher has already won six of the ten races this season.

Schumacher is well known around the F1 Paddock, not only for his legendary surname but also for his skills shown in previous racing series. He has made a few appearances at race weekends such as this years Monza Grand Prix where he awarded Kimi Raikkonen with The Pole Position Award . Moreover, last year Mick managed to race a lap around Spa Francorchamps in his father's, Michael Schumacher, old Benetton.

However, Helmet Marko, has been quoted saying,"He is not on our list and we have no contact at all with him."

Does this mean we can rule him out for the 2019 grid?

With two seats still to confirm at Toro Rosso, maybe it will be Daniil Kvyat, former Toro Rosso and Redbull driver. Even though the Russian had been shown the door on two occasions, he is still raring to drive in Formula One as shown by him being a development driver for Ferrari.

Adding to this, Helmet is said to have ruled out having Esteban Ocon as a Toro Rosso driver next season due to his ties at Mercedes. This has ultimately ruled him out to race for the Italian team.

Can we expect to see another Schumacher on the 2019 grid, or will we have to keep waiting? Only time will tell...
