Mick Schumacher is officially a Ferrari Academy Driver, as confirmed by Mick this morning. Mick will now be wearing the iconic red overalls and may take part in his first Formula 1 tests this season.
Schumacher will still compete in Formula 2 with the Prema Racing Team, but may be called upon to test this years Scuderia Ferrari F1 car.
Mick stated: "I am thrilled that Ferrari has entered a partnership with me and my future in motorsport will be in red, being part of the Ferrari Driver Academy and also of the Scuderia Ferrari Family. I will make everything to extract whatever helps me achieve my dream, racing in Formula 1." He continued with, "it is more than obvious that Ferrari has a big place in my heart since I was born and also the hearts of my family, so I am delighted on a personal level about this opportunity."
Michael Schumacher, 7 time World Champion as well as being Mick's father, secured 5 of his world titles with the iconic red team. Therefore, this opportunity is more than just a contract. Will this be Mick's golden ticket to Formula 1?
